What's Underneath

I probably should have done this at the beginning but I guess now is okay too. No matter what style you're going for, you need some good support. Yes I'm taking about bras and undies... I know it's weird to talk about but it needs to be said, to look good, you need confidence and to get that, you need to feel good about you're body.

Personally I like LaSenza, I  haven't tried Victoria's Secret but I'm sure it's good considering  it's so famous. So if you haven't already taken care of this, go to a bra store and get your size checked. I know it's kinda weird because I don't think there's anyone out there who's comfortable with their size (I know I'm not).

After you take care of that, pick out some cute ones that fit right. Even though you've been measured, try on the bras before buying because certain styles fit differently than others.

While you're at it, why not splurge on some cute matching undies?

So that's the lesson for today, and I strongly suggest you take my advice.

Confidence is the best accessory any girl can wear!

The Denim Diva

Okay I think we're just about done with the basics which means we can finally get to the fun part!

My personal favorite part of any wardrobe is the jeans so let me give you some advice on that. I like a lot of patterns so brace yourselves.

Leopard print
These are super cool because they bring in a cool element to your wardrobe and adds a surprise twist but still looks super cool and edgy.

Although make sure you get them in a blue or black or even gray but nothing too flashy.

Snake skin
I love these especially in black because they look like normal black jeans from far.

Aztec print
These are equally awesome and edgy but make sure you wear then with a neutral top.

In my opinion, even these in a bold color would be cool, although they would be less edgy. But I'm sure you could pull it off with a black tee.

You can also try a fake leather kind of jean, but don't over do it or else it'll just look tacky.

See, the second ones would be over doing it....yikes

Lastly for today. the famous ripped jeans. These are a must for every edgy wardrobe, they show that you're not gonna have your mother wash your clothes and give then to you in perfect condition. You're not perfect and neither are your jeans.

THE LBD

I think the title says it all really. If you're gonna buy a black dress, then some cool things you could look at is lace, zippers, stripes, ruffles, anything goes really, as long as it's black!

So the first 3 are from h&m and the other 3 are from forever21.

P.S. I promise the next lessons will be cooler but this needed to be done ;)

Back to the Basics: Bottoms

Hey everyone! Today I'd like to finish the Back to the Basics section. I've done tops and camis and now we're going to tackle bottoms. Although I don't think  it'll be that hard because I'm pretty sure everyone reading this owns a pair of skinny jeans.

Alrighty, so first you need some skinny jeans. Dark blue ones, black ones, grey ones. As for any other colors, I would recommend skinny fit pants because they're more comfortable than jeans but of course you can get what you want.

All of these are from H&M and cost ONLY 13$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for the pants, these are also from H&M (yeah its my fav store) and cost only 15$:

Although, there is a rule in fashion that says you can't own more than 1 pair of the same item, even if it's in another color, so try to find other styles.

Now that we're done with the pants, there's still shorts, skirts, and tights to talk about.

For the shorts, I would get some regular black ones, blue denim ones and fake leather ones.

These are from (you guessed it!) H&M:

In the summer, they're great to wear on their own but in the fall or spring, I like to wear them with tights underneath.

On the subject of tights, get some basic black ones to wear underneath anything and some basic black leggings too (no they're not the same thing!!!! I cannot stress this enough!)

Now for the skirts. Again all you really need is a black one but if you're too edgy for them, just stick to shorts.

And there you have it! All the basics to create an edgy wardrobe!

Back to the Basics: T-shirts

Another thing you're going to need is a couple of basic tees. Again, I'd get a black one or maybe even two, a grey one and some black striped ones.

The top 3 are from Garage and the others are from H&M:

Basic V-Neck Tee - Garage  Pocket Tee With Chiffon Inserts - Garage

As far as the long sleeves, I recommend a black one, a dark green one, a dark grey one and maybe a burgundy. As you can see these are pretty much the colors of an egdy style: black ,grey, dark green, dark purple and burgundy. Stay away from brights like yellow and orange and limit the white as well.

Here are some from Garage:

Long Sleeve Slub V-Neck Tee - Garage Long Sleeve Pocket Sweater - Garage Long Sleeve Striped Tee - Garage Striped Henley Tee - Garage

And while I've got you, I'd like to recommend another website called College Fasion, go check it out!

Back to the Basics: Camisoles

Let's get started!

Okay so the base to any good wardrobe is a couple of essencials.
To create an edgy style, most of these will be black (hey, they're slimming)

You'll want to start off with some camisoles because they're great for layering.

Definitely invest in a black one, and I would recommend a burgundy one and a navy blue one too.

Here's a black one and a navy blue one from Garage.

And here's a burgundy one from H&M.

You can get whatever colors you like, besides these 3, I'd probably get a dark green one and a dark grey one.
Hey everyone! This is my new blog, Living on the Edge. It's all about fashion, edgy and rocker styles and how to create them.
